Fill the Gap in Your Smart Home

FYTA started in Berlin in 2019 with a simple question: How can we give plants a voice? Since then, we’ve been pouring our hearts into making that vision a reality.
We’re an ambitious team of developers, designers, and scientists – united by a shared passion for plants, data, and technology. Our mission: to make every plant measurable.
Our goal: to build the world’s largest plant database using powerful, affordable sensors – to protect plants from environmental stress.
Every new sensor makes FYTA a little smarter – and the future a little greener.

How does FYTA help me and my plants?
FYTA helps you care for your plants in a targeted and sustainable way. The new FYTA 2.0 sensors are a logical further development. They measure four times as often as the FYTA Beam 1.0 and provide more accurate data. Using scientifically based algorithms, FYTA not only analyzes real-time values, but also recognizes long-term patterns. The data is also incorporated into our photo-based AI health check.
This means you don't get generic tips, but individual recommendations that are tailored precisely to your plant. Less guesswork, more understanding—and healthier plants.
What are the differences between FYTA 1.0 and 2.0?
The new FYTA 2.0 sensors are a logical further development and are already available for pre-order. They are particularly recommended if you want to use your sensors in areas of application that FYTA has not been able to cover until now.
For classic potted plants at home, the FYTA Beam 1.0 remains a very good and more affordable choice.
The existing hardware (FYTA Beam 1.0, FYTA WLAN Hub) continues to work – the entire system is fully backward compatible. This means you can combine your existing sensors with the new sensors from the FYTA 2.0 system in the future. All sensors are controlled via the FYTA app.
New with FYTA 2.0:
- Five new devices, including the FYTA Terra for outdoor use
- Updated measurement technology (four measurements per hour)
- Larger batteries for even longer runtime
- New, flexible probes, still interchangeable (lengths 3–35 cm)
- Autonomous use with the FYTA LTE-M Hub, available at a later date
Do FYTA sensors also work outdoors?
Yes, the sensors are also suitable for outdoor use. But to varying degrees. The FYTA Terra from the new FYTA 2.0 system was developed specifically for outdoor use and can be used flexibly thanks to WiFi and an integrated solar cell—even in the lawn.
The other soil sensors (FYTA Beam, FYTA Beam 2.0, and FYTA Mini), on the other hand, are only suitable for potted and container plants in growing media.
What is the hub? And do I need it?
That depends on your needs: You can easily use all FYTA sensors directly with your smartphone via Bluetooth. However, the number of FYTA sensors in a pure Bluetooth configuration affects user-friendliness: to retrieve the data without a hub, you have to regularly open the FYTA app near the sensors. The more sensors are located close together and the less often you open the app, the longer it takes to download the data.
A hub (FYTA WiFi Hub or FYTA LTE-M Hub) automatically reads the sensor data every hour without you having to do anything. We can then notify you via push notification when your plants need your attention. The FYTA Terra also has integrated hub functionality.
Can FYTA sensors really save my plants?
There is no guarantee—plants can also be weakened by disease or pests. But FYTA helps you to understand your plants better and care for them properly: you can see how your plant reacts to light, water, and location. The sensors provide you with valuable data that allows you to react in time.
Think of FYTA as a fitness tracker: it gives you accurate health information and helps you develop better habits—only for your plants. 😎
Do you also ship outside the EU?
Yes, we also deliver outside the EU, to almost all countries.
