A truly genuine way of sharing her day-to-day, quirky yet relatable, and a mindful plant carer: that's Flora Amalie!

For Flora, Instagram is all about community, storytelling and sharing. She likes to post things she cares about: authentic content, the easy and the gritty. She’ll tell you about the good and the bad days, and everything that falls in between. Being a “McInsta” – an account which features the same popular posts repeatedly – is not her thing.

“Someone told me the other day: ‘You’re my favorite interior account.’ And I thought, ‘Wow, I am an interior account?’” She didn’t plan it, but over time her account just evolved organically – and has grown. The same goes for her plant love.

Flora grew up in Copenhagen with a house and a garden, and the more she moved around, the more she felt the desire to share her life with plants. She doesn’t see them as décor, but genuinely cares for her green housemates. She doesn’t want her place to be a controlled environment, or indoor gardening to become an organized hobby. For Flora, living with plants is a way of life.

One of Flora’s favorites is her lucky bamboo, which was originally part of a flower bouquet.  She noticed that it grew roots and nursed it to become a proper houseplant. She has a little plant hospital, where plants receive an extra portion of light. She also loves growing avocados for friends, and watering plants while listening to a playlist she created just for that.

After the tragic and painful loss of Djego, the Avocado, Flora stopped naming her plants. “They don’t have unique names, but I do have a relationship to every single one.” The Alocasia Amazonica on her desk is a new guy. Getting to know each other will take some time, so for now he is just a plant. But with all the others, it’s BPFF BPFF = Best Plants Friends Forever

. Together, they went through several moves. And will continue to grow – through the good and the bad.
